Royal Reds, (Pleoticus Robustus) are a deep water wild caught shrimp. Harvested at depths of 1200 ft to over half mile down from the northeastern section of the Gulf of Mexico to Dry Tortugas. Royal Reds are a vibrant red color, with their soft texture are considered to be the most delicate and the sweetest of all our native caught shrimp. These succulent shrimp are harvested from early March to June. Due to their delicate texture, the cook time is reduced to half the cook time of other shrimp. Chefs love the presentation of Royal Red shrimp in their favorite dishes. Popular recipes include steaming, boiling, sautéing and grilling.
